Prayer

An integral part of the faith life of our school community is expressed through prayer. Students, staff and families are invited to join together for prayer, liturgies and masses.  Students are introduced to various forms of prayer for different purposes throughout the day and in our Religious Education time.

Liturgies

St Joseph’s has two spaces in our school, St Joseph’s and St Mary MacKillop’s halls, in which we hold school liturgies.  St James’ Church also provides a sacred space to gather for other prayer and liturgical experiences held regularly throughout the year. Significant Liturgies celebrated as a school during the year include:

  • Opening and End of year Masses
  • Ash Wednesday Mass
  • Feast days of Mary
  • National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Week
  • Feast Day of Blessed Mary MacKillop
  • Feast Day of St Joseph
